Inclusion Criteria

45 ASA grade I - III patients of age group 18-60 years, with a BMI of >=35kg/m2requiring elective intubation for bariatric or other surgical procedures were enrolled into the study

Exclusion Criteria

1. ASA IV,V patients

2. Patients undergoing emergency surgery

3.Patients with respiratory/ oral and pharyngeal pathology.

4. Patients with predicted difficult intubation:

a.Craniofacial abnormalities/cervical spine disease/ restricted mouth opening <1.5cm/buck teeth/ macroglossia / patients scheduled for oral surgery.

b.Restricted mouth opening (Temperomandibular joint ankylosis, submucous fibrosis)

5.Patient refusal for participation in the study
