1) Age more than 18 years
2) Mechanical ventilation of at least 48 hours
3) Patient should met the following criteria for readiness of weaning:
âžâ?Oxygenation status: FiO2 <0.5 with PEEP less than or equal to 8 cm H2O & paO2/FiO2 >200
âžâ?Ventilation status: Respiratory rate less than or equal to 30/min & paCO2 of <45 mmHg
âžâ?Stable hemodynamics
âžâ?Intact mentation
âžâ?Minimal secretion and effective cough
1) Known Neuromuscular disorder
2) Known case of diaphragmatic paralysis
3) Tracheostomized patients
4) Increased Intraabdominal Pressure
5) Phrenic Nerve Palsy
6) Obstetric antenatal patients
