1.Patients undergoing ambulatory surgery
2.Age between 18-60 years
3.ASA grade 1 and 2
4.Expected duration of surgery less than 90 minutes
5.Patient with adequate mouth opening as defined by Mallampati scores(I &II)
6.Patient with adequate NPO status(as per ASA guidelines)
1.Patient refusal to participate in the study
2.Patients <18yrs or >60 years of age
3.Pregnancy
4.ASA 3 and 4 patients
5.Patients with full stomach
6.Patients taking CNS depressants
7.Patients with psychiatric disorders
8.Chronic opioid or corticosteroid use
9.Patients with liver or renal disease
10.Obese patients ( Body mass index >35kg/m2)
11.Patients with upper airway morbidity (symptoms suggestive of URTI including cough, scratchy throat and hoarseness).
12.Patients with Mallampati scores III &IV
13.H/o of asthma
14.H/o of gastritis

Name Time Method 1.Total time duration for awakening after discontinuation of volatile anaesthetic agent. <br/ ><br>2.Incidence of cough determined through scores after discontinuation of the volatile anaesthetic agent. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: 1.Specific time when subject spontaneously opens his eyes after discontinuation of anesthetic agent <br/ ><br>2.Incidence of cough determined after patient being shifted to PACU. <br/ ><br>
