Group 1
Healthy participants Age more than 40 years
Age related Cataract
Group 2
Diagnosed case of Diabetes Mellitus of
any duration controlled on oral
hypoglycemic agents(OHA) / insulin with random blood sugar <200mg/dl and
HbA1c < 7%
Age more than 40 years
Age Related Cataract
Patients with complicated cataract surgery
Patients with intraocular pressure(IOP) >21 mmHg
Dense cataract in whom SD-OCT cannot be performed
Ocular disease that might affect central macular thickness including
1) Glaucoma
2) Uveitis
3) Age related macular degeneration
4) Patients with other vascular retinopathy like hypertensive retinopathy, retinal vein
occlusion and retinal artery occlusion
5) Macular hole
6) Epiretinal membrane
7) Retinal detachment
8) Optic neuritis
