入选标准
- •ASA grade i and ii patients with intact mental status posted for laproscopic cholecystectomy under general anaesthesia,using LMA after obtaining written and informed consent
排除标准
- •Refused to participate in study
- •Contraindication to chewing gum
- •Impaired pharyngeal /oesophageal function (eg bulbar palsy , achalasia )
- •Phenylketonuria (contraindication to sweetner aspartame in chewing gum )
- •Full upper or lower denture (not feasible to chew gum )
- •Contraindication to any protocolised antiemetic drug (prophylaxis , randomised interven or rescue )
- •Planeed postoperative mechanical ventilation
- •Patient with history of postoperative nausea vomiting in previous surgery
- •Edentulate patient who are unable to chew gum
- •Allergic to any of used drug
- •Patient having any contraindication for applying for arm pressure eg burns , wounds , trauma , fistula
- •Pregnant and breast feeding females
