Inclusion Criteria
1. Patient's symptom duration was at least 12 weeks
2. Conservative treatment failed
3. Disc herniation confirmed by MRI of lumbar spine
Exclusion Criteria
1. Previous lumbosacral surgery
2. Disc herniation with spinal instability
3. Current steroid used
4. Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus
5. Allergy to triamcinolone, or medication in postoperative pain control protocol
