Inclusion Criteria
- •Medical necessity of invasive blood pressure monitoring (i.e. inserting arterial line) prior to the induction of general anesthesia.
Exclusion Criteria
- •\- age \< 18 years
- •\- pregnancy
- •\- body weight \> 120 kg
- •\- ASA score \> 4
- •\- emergency operation
- •\- hemodynamic instability requiring medical intervention prior to induction (vasopressors, inotropes etc.)
- •\- cerebrovascular disease
- •\- known carotid stenosis
- •\- LVEF \< 30%
- •\- COPD GOLD 4
