Primary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod

The main study parameters are:

- to measure the stability of walking: the Lyapunov exponent

- to measure the rate of bone turnover: CTx (C-terminal

cross-linking-telopeptide of type 1 collagen) which is a biochemical marker of

bone resorption and osteocalcin and P1NP (procollagen typ-1 N propeptide) as

markers of bone formation will be measured.

Secondary Outcome Measures
NameTimeMethod

Secondary study parameters are:

for gait measurements:

- electromyography (EMG)

- oxygen consumption

for muscle function:

- cm (horizontal jump height)

- force

- EMG

- serum concentration of the systemic growth factors IGF-1 and myostatin

for bone quality

- in order to measure the quality of the heel bone broad band ultrasound

attenuation (BUA) and speed of sound (SOS) will be measured, using quantitative

ultrasound

for daily actitivies

- LASA physical activity questionnaire (LAPAQ)
