To find out the effective volume of 0.25% ropivacaine(anaesthetic drug) by ultrasound guided nerve block for positioning of hip fracture patients before giving spinal anaesthesia.

1) Patients with age above 18 years undergoing surgery for hip fracture under sub-arachnoid blockade
2) BMI:18-30 kg/m2
3) ASA physical status: I-III
1) Allergy to local anaesthestics drugs.
2) Any contraindication to neuraxial blockade like local infection at site of injection, raised intacranial pressure, spine trauma.
3) Prothrombin Time INR greater than 1.5,Platelet count less than 75,000/cmm
4) Patient refusal to FICB/ neuraxial blockade.
5) Previous surgery in suprainguinal region.
6) Patient unable to understand the procedure.
