Inclusion Criteria

65 years or older with sarcopenia, i.e. low muscle mass ((assessed with bioelectrical impedance analysis): skeletal muscle mass index (SMMI) = SMM [in kg] / (height [in m])² = 10,75 kg/m² (men) / = 6,75 kg/m² (women)) in combination with low muscle strength (hand grip strength (dynamometry) < 30 kg (men) bzw. < 20 kg (women)) and/or slow walking speed (< 0,8 m/s)

Exclusion Criteria

not sarcopenic, refusal or unable to give informed consent, contraindication for bioelecrical impedance analysis, diagnosis of dementia or severe cognitive impairment or unable to understand task, severe depression, unable to sufficiently speak or understand German
