Patients aged 65 years and above with an American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status classification of I–II who were scheduled to undergo elective transurethral resection of the prostate/bladder
Congestive heart failure (ejection fraction <35%); thyroid, pituitary, adrenal, kidney, or liver disease; glucocorticoid medication; hormone replacement therapy; malignancies; signs of acute infection or inflammation; obesity; and other conditions for which spinal anesthesia is contraindicated.
