1. Patients admitted to ICU/HDU at Kasturba Hospital, 2. Must meet the criteria for sepsis according to
sepsis 3 guidelines (2 or more SOFA -sequential
organ failure assessment score).
1. Patients with thyroid dysfunction
2. Chronic kidney disease
3. Chronic liver disease
4. Pregnancy
5. Malignancy
6. Malabsorption
7. On drugs like steroids
8. Familial hyperlipidemias
9. Chronic inflammatory conditions like HIV, SLE,
rheumatoid arthritis
10. patients who left the hospital against medical advice
11. post operative sepsis.
