above 60 years and less than 20 years suffering from malignancy or thyroid complication

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 1.To assess the prevalence of osteoporosis in rural and urban areas of Amritsar district by measuring their bone mineral density <br/ ><br>2.To assess the regular food habits and current Calcium intake by conducting a complete diet survey. <br/ ><br>3.To conduct nutritional education programs for the consumption of milk, nuts, intake of calcium rich food, awareness regarding physical activity and exposure to sunlight. <br/ ><br>4.To assess the serum vit D and parathyroid hormone levels. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: 1. observation for the 3087 population will be done only once where BMD, gynecological history as well as dietary assessment will be made. <br/ ><br>2. Pre and post assessment of dietary habits, BMD vitamin D and PTH will also be made after the intervention period of 6 months. <br/ ><br>
