Exclusion Criteria

above 60 years and less than 20 years suffering from malignancy or thyroid complication

Primary Outcome Measures

1.To assess the prevalence of osteoporosis in rural and urban areas of Amritsar district by measuring their bone mineral density <br/ ><br>2.To assess the regular food habits and current Calcium intake by conducting a complete diet survey. <br/ ><br>3.To conduct nutritional education programs for the consumption of milk, nuts, intake of calcium rich food, awareness regarding physical activity and exposure to sunlight. <br/ ><br>4.To assess the serum vit D and parathyroid hormone levels. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: 1. observation for the 3087 population will be done only once where BMD, gynecological history as well as dietary assessment will be made. <br/ ><br>2. Pre and post assessment of dietary habits, BMD vitamin D and PTH will also be made after the intervention period of 6 months. <br/ ><br>
