The objective of the present study is to 1) investigate the acute and chronic pain prevalence and impact among adults in mainland China; 2) determine the preferences of the adults regarding the future digital pain education programme; and 3) understand the interventional strategies employed by adults to alleviate pain.

- •comprised individuals aged older than 18 years old, residents of mainland China proficient in Chinese, and owners of smartphones with internet access.

- •encompassed individuals dealing with drug addiction, dyslexia, intellectual disability, or severe mental illness.
