Inclusion Criteria
Intubated patients of more than 18 years of age were included in the study
Exclusion Criteria
1. Patients requiring emergency tracheostomy.
2. Patients with cervical spine injury.
3. Distorted neck anatomy
4. Any infection at the tracheostomy site
5. Morbidly obese patients( BMI > 35)
6. Platelet count less than 50000/cu. mm
7. INR more than 1.5
8. Positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP) more
than 15 cm H2O.
9. Fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2)
requirement more than 80%.

Name Time Method Procedural timeTimepoint: Total time will be noted at the point of successful placement of tracheostomy tube
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 1.Number of needle interventions needed to successfully enter the trachea. <br/ ><br>2.Complication observed in both the groups. <br/ ><br>Timepoint: Needle interventions will be noted with each attempt to cannulate the trachea with the introducer needle of the tracheostomy set.Maximum 3 attempts will beconsidered. Complications will be noted during the procedure and till 24 hours post procedure.
