1. Patients having classical sign and symptoms of Madhumeha (Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus) as per Ayurvedic classics as well as modern medicine.
2. Age: 30- 50 years
3. Newly diagnosed patients with Plasma sugar level between:
Fasting- 126mg/dl- 160mg/dl
Postprandial- 200mg/dl- 250mg/dl
4. HbA1c level between: 6.5% to 9.0%
5. Obese patients having BMI: > 23Kg/m2
6. Patients who are fit for Basti Karma as per ayurvedic classics.
1. Age: < 30yrs and >50yrs
2. HbA1c level: <6.5% and >9.0%
3. FBS level >160mg /dl and PPBS level >250mg/dl
4. Krisha or thin patients with BMI: Equal to or less than 23Kg/m2
5. Patients suffering from IDDM (Insulin dependent Diabetes Mellitus), Juvenile Diabetes or Gestational Diabetes.
6. Patients having drug and chemical induced Type 2 Diabetes like glucocorticoids induced or thyroid hormone induced etc.
7. Patients with complications of Diabetes like Diabetic ketoacidosis, Diabetic coma, Diabetic retinopathy, Diabetic neuropathy and Diabetic nephropathy.
8. Patients suffering from other systemic diseases.
9. Patients suffering from any current acute illness.
10. Patients having congenital physiological anomalies, surgical interventions and any truma.
11. Patients who are contraindicated for Basti Karma.
