Inclusion Criteria

Patients with American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA ) grade 1 &2 aged 20-60 years ,of both sexes ,scheduled for orthopedic procedures under general anesthesia

Exclusion Criteria

Patients who do not give consent, patients with known contraindications for paracetamol or pethidine, a history of alcoholism or drug abuse , psychiatric disease, severe allergic,hepatic,renal,cadiovascular or pulmonary disease. Patients with central or peripheral nervous system disease are also excluded from the study.
