Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Age 21 to 60 years
- •-Ability to read, write and speak Kannada, Malayalam or English
- •-Diagnosed with Alcohol Dependence Syndrome by a consultant psychiatrist on the basis of ICD 10-DCR criteria
- •-Minimal withdrawal symptoms (CIWA-Ar score < 10)
- •-No use of benzodiazepines at least 12 hours prior to testing
Exclusion Criteria
- •-Presence of any other major independent psychiatric illness
- •-Presence of any major physical illness (hepatic encephalopathy, chronic renal disease, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders)
- •-Presence of any major neurological illness (epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, degenerative disorders)
- •-Poor visual acuity
- •-Harmful use of any other psycho-active substance other than nicotine
