Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Age 21 to 60 years
- •\-Ability to read, write and speak Kannada, Malayalam or English
- •\-Diagnosed with Alcohol Dependence Syndrome by a consultant psychiatrist on the basis of ICD 10\-DCR criteria
- •\-Minimal withdrawal symptoms (CIWA\-Ar score \< 10\)
- •\-No use of benzodiazepines at least 12 hours prior to testing
Exclusion Criteria
- •\-Presence of any other major independent psychiatric illness
- •\-Presence of any major physical illness (hepatic encephalopathy, chronic renal disease, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders)
- •\-Presence of any major neurological illness (epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, degenerative disorders)
- •\-Poor visual acuity
- •\-Harmful use of any other psycho\-active substance other than nicotine
