Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Inclusion criteria
  • 1\.Treatment naïve patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the oral tongue
  • 2\.T1\-T4 staged disease
  • 3\.Patients who will undergo definitive surgical management
  • 4\.Age greater than or equal to 18 years

Exclusion Criteria

  • Exclusion criteria
  • 1\.Patients having any history of mental illness (depression, anxiety, etc) and currently taking medication for the same
  • 2\.Patients taking any form of week or strong opioid analgesics as per the WHO pain scale ladder, for a period greater than 1 week
  • 3\.Patients having a history of other diseases and conditions where taste sensation is disturbed such as Sjogrenâ??s syndrome, radiotherapy, etc.
  • 4\.Patients who have had COVID\-19 previously
  • 5\.Patients who do not know how to read English, Hindi or Marathi
  • 6\.Patients with trismus and with ankyloglossia
