Inclusion Criteria
Age < 5 years of age
Respiratory stable
Exclusion Criteria
premature birth with gestational age corrected for post-conceptional age less
than 40 weeks, chronic respiratory failure on home ventilation, intracranial
hypertension, pre-existing pulmonary hypertension, evidence of oesophageal
pathology or the inability to place the EAdi catheter or any other
contraindication regarding the insertion of the EAdi catheter by either the
oral or nasal route, or withdrawal of life * sustaining treatment
