Inclusion Criteria
Need for orthognathic surgery (Index of orthognathic functional treatment need >4)
- skeletal class III or skeletal class II
- Braces in situ on both investigation time points T0 and T1
- >24 teeth in situ
- adult patient (> 18 years old)
- ASA class 1 or 2
Exclusion Criteria
- cleft lip and/or palate
- impaired facial motion
- excessive facial hair
- positive history of orthognathic surgery
- excessive facial asymmetry (menton deviation > 4mm)

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Oral-health related quality of life is determined using the Orthognathic Quality of Life Questionnaire 1 day preoperative (T0) and 4 months postoperative (T1).

Name Time Method Secondary outcomes are measured 1 day preoperative (T0) and 4 months postoperative (T1) as follows:<br>a) Maximum smile: magnitude - speed - similarity<br>b) Lip purse: magnitude - speed - similarity<br>c) self-efficacy<br>d) body image
