1.Indication for surgery- benign gynaecological condition
2.Acceptable concomitant procedures- With or without salpingo-oophorectomy, endometrioma excision, ovarian cystectomy
3.Woman giving consent
1.Extensive additional tissue manipulation- pelvic lymph node dissection, sacrocolpopexy, anterior/ posterior colporrhaphy, sling surgeries, deep infiltrating endometriosis requiring extensive dissection and excision
2.Gynaecological malignancies
3.Conversion to laparotomy
4.Inability to perform the para-cervical block due to anatomic abnormalities (absent/flush cervix)
5.Known allergy to amide anesthetics
6.Intraoperative inadvertent injury to gastrointestinal or urologic tract that necessitated repair
7.Woman not consenting
