Inclusion Criteria

According to ICD-10 classification J12.1, J20.5, J21.0 and B97.4 hospitalization associated with RSV infection within the study period, presence of respiratory symptoms, and proven RSV disease by either positive PCR or antigen test. For Influenza infection J10.1 and hospitalization during the study period, presence of respiratory symptoms and proven Influenza disease by either positive PCR or antigen test.

Exclusion Criteria

RSV or Influenza not proven or hospitalization due to other than respiratory disease. Nosocomial RSV infections will separately be analyzed.

The aim of the study is to determine RSV and Influenza disease during the Covid-19 pandemic at two Austrian urban pediatric centers SMZ OST Wien and Universitätsklinikum Graz” between Sept 1, 2019 and Dec 17, 2021.
Secondary Outcome Measures

-Severity of RSV and Influenza disease measured by length of stay due to infectious disease, supplemental oxygen therapy and rates of ICU admission with need of non-invasive and invasive respiratory support.<br>-To describe the clinical course as well as complications and treatments <br>-To analyze the demographic, seasonality and medical background of RSV and Influenza hospitalization cases<br>-To identify risk factors<br>-To compare the clinical course of RSV/Influenza hospitalization during the 1st year and within older children<br>-To compare all disease parameters between the two pediatric centers
