Background
Upper Crossed Syndrome is a common postural dysfunction characterized by muscle imbalances involving tightness of the upper trapezius, levator scapulae, and pectoralis muscles, along with weakness of the deep neck flexors, lower trapezius, and serratus anterior. It is frequently observed among college students due to prolonged screen time, poor ergonomics, and sedentary lifestyles. UCS often leads to neck pain, forward head posture, and functional limitations, impacting quality of life.
Janda’s Sensorimotor Training focuses on enhancing neuromuscular control, postural stability, and proprioception, aiming to correct faulty movement patterns and improve postural alignment. Despite its theoretical benefits, limited randomized controlled trials have evaluated its effect specifically on UCS in young adults.
Purpose of the Trial
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of Janda’s Sensorimotor Training on posture and neck pain in college students with Upper Crossed Syndrome. The trial aims to determine whether SMT can significantly improve craniovertebral angle (as a measure of forward head posture), reduce pain levels (VAS), and decrease functional disability (Neck Disability Index) compared to conventional physiotherapy or control interventions.

- •College students Age 18-26 Both male and female Individuals clinically diagnosed with upper cross syndrome (UCS) based on physical examination and postural analysis.
- •Student with neck pain • Student willing to participate.
排除标准
- •Participants with underlying systemic illness Any injury around head, neck, scapula and shoulders Any surgery around head, neck, scapula, and shoulders.
