Relationship between perfectionism, academic burnout, self-compassion, and self-handicapping among Engineering students at a private university in South India.

This cross-sectional study aims to assess the relationship between perfectionism, academic burnout, self-compassion, and self-handicapping among undergraduate engineering students. Data will be collected using standardized self-report measures, including the Almost Perfect Scale–Revised (APS-R), Academic Burnout Scale, Self-Compassion Scale–Short Form (SCS-SF), and Self-Handicapping Scale. The study seeks to understand how these psychological variables interact and influence academic experiences among students. Findings may contribute to better understanding of student mental health and help in developing supportive academic interventions.
