Patients voluntarily willing to participate in the trial without any active caries lesion, restorations and free from any systematic diseases
Physically or medically compromised patients
Patients undergoing dental treatment
Patients under any topical/systematic medication (antibiotics) that would affect the salivary characteristics
Patients using any herbal preparation/medicine/ twig (Mango, Neem, Misbak etc.) for maintaining oral hygiene or for dental pain relief
Patients using any mouthwash (such as Hexidine/ Listerine) within past one month
Patients with high gag reflex
Patients who had any painful, debilitating oral condition (such as acute abscess, cellulitis, herpes, apthous ulcers, candidiasis etc.)
Patients who failed to comprehend directions or follow commands
Patients who had brushed their teeth or had consumed eatables less than two hours before the sample collection
