Inclusion Criteria
Hemoglobin E beta thalassemia
Transfusion dependent thalassemia patients
No iron chelator therapy for at least 1 month before study
Clinically stable state
Exclusion Criteria
Hypersensitivity to deferiprone
Pregnancy
HIV positive
Neutropenia
Thrombocytopenia
Drug or alcohol addiction
