Inclusion Criteria
Totally edentulous in the upper and lower arches; age between 40 and 70 years; good general health; having alveolar ridges classified as horizontal or distal ascending in the mesio-distal direction; and normal in the buccolingual direction, with mandibular-symphysis bone height grater than 16 mm
Exclusion Criteria
Presence of clinically detected parafunctional habits; history of symptoms in the temporomandibular joints and masticatory muscles; have osteoporosis; having Type I and II Diabetes Mellitus; to be a smoker; apparent xerostomia; patients with uncontrolled systemic diseases; individuals who underwent radiotherapy in the head and neck
