Since the prediction models for Pmax should also be applicable to as many different populations as possible in the follow-up, the exclusion criteria are limited to physical and mental conditions that make it impossible for subjects to participate in the planned studies. These include:
- Acute infections or orthopedic problems that make spiroergometric exercise impossible,
- the wearing of a pacemaker or an ongoing pregnancy, as this makes it impossible to perform a bioimpedance analysis to determine the body composition,
- lack of knowledge of German, as it makes it impossible to answer the questionnaires.
Non-orthopedic medical conditions, such as metabolic, neurologic, or neoplastic diseases, are not grounds for exclusion.
