1. Patients willing to participate
2. Patients of end stage renal disease
3. Age between 18 and 65 years
1. Patientâ??s refusal to participate
2. Patients with coagulopathy
3. Patients in sepsis
4. Patients of dilated cardiomyopathy with left ventricular ejection fraction less than 40%
5. Patients with artificial hearts and ventricular assist devices (VAD).
6. Patients with severe, persistent arrhythmias.
7. Patients with severe, persistent peripheral vasoconstriction or arterial spasm, such as in shock states
8. Patients of coronary artery disease
9. Patients with nasal injuries or nasal trauma
10. Patients with facial trauma
11. Patients with risk of brain injury
12. Patients of carcinoma or tissue necrosis of pharynx, larynx or oesophagus
13. Patients undergoing intra-aortic balloon pumping
14. Patients with aneurysms of thoracic aorta
15. Paediatric patients < 18 years of age
