Brief Summary

This study is randomised comparative study to compare effect of balanced Salt solution with normal saline on acid base equilibrium in patients undergoing elective neurosurgery by doing ABG at start of surgery then hourly and end of surgery.

Inclusion Criteria

  • •American society of anaesthesiologists physical status 1-2 schedule for elective surgery.

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1.Repeat craniotomies 2.Patients with history of diabetes insipidus or syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic harmones 3.patients on diuretic mannitol or hypertonic saline before surgery.

Primary Outcomes

Comparison of balanced salt solution with normal saline on acid base equilibrium

Time Frame: 1 yr 18 month

Secondary Outcomes

  • Effect of balanced salt solution with normal saline on serum electrolytes & serum osmolarity(1year 18 month)
