Inclusion Criteria
Age 18-65
Diagnosed case of pancreatitis with moderate to severe pain (NRS 4 to 10) .
Exclusion Criteria
Patients with hypotension, respiratory depression or complications such as sepsis
Patients with known hypersensitivity to local anaesthetic
Patients with local wound site infection
Patients with altered pain perception â?? eg unconscious patients
Patients with known coagulation defects
Pregnant patients (positive urine or serum B-HCG)

Name Time Method Primary: To compare the effectiveness of erector spinae plane block with intravenous <br/ ><br>opioids for ameliorating pain in patients presenting to the emergency department with <br/ ><br>acute pancreatitis.Timepoint: Hourly pain assessment

Name Time Method To compare the variations in physiological parameters such as blood pressure, pulse rate & oxygen saturation in patients within the <br/ ><br>intravenous opioids group as opposed to the ESPB group. <br/ ><br>To compare the safety, efficacy and feasibility of application of the ESPB as <br/ ><br>opposed to intravenous opioids in patients with acute pancreatitis.Timepoint: hourly assessment of blood pressure, pulse rate & oxygen saturation.
