(1)Patients should meet DSM-IV criteria for schizophrenia (295.1-295.3; 295.6; 295.9) confirmed with the MINI
(2)Age between 18 and 55 years
(3)IQ> 80 according to the Mehrfachwahl-Wortschatztest
(4)No current substance abuse (standard drug screening in urine)
(5)No documented or suspected major brain damage or other neurological diseases (e.g. stroke, epilepsy, concussion)
(6)Patients must be clinically stable and able to provide informed consent
(1)Patients with Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale scores = 5 for any positive symptom item will be excluded to avoid confounding with acute psychotic symptoms
(2)Patients with Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression scores = 20 will be excluded to avoid confounding with severe depressive symptoms
(3)Cognitive deficits: in at least three domains scores below PR<16 (WAFA, WAFG, WAFS, NBV, ToL, Go/NoGo)
