Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Children aged between 2 to 12 years.
  • 2\.Elective open cardiac surgery via median sternotomy for the repair of simple congenital heart diseases.
  • 3\. ASA I:III

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\.Repeated cardiac surgery.
  • 2\.Emergency surgery.
  • 3\.Intubated patients.
  • 4\.Patients receiving inotropic support.
  • 5\.Presence of pulmonary hypertension.
  • 6\.Presence of bleeding disorders.
  • 7\.Presence of allergy to the amide local anesthetics.
  • 8\.Presence of thoracic spine deformity and history of thoracic vertebrae trauma or surgery.
