Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Adult patients (\= 18 years) admitted for sepsis or septic shock( according to
  • Sepsis\-3 criteria) within 24 hours after admission in the department of critical care

Exclusion Criteria

  • (1\) Under 18 years of age.
  • (2\) Pregnancy.
  • (3\) Shock of other origin.
  • (4\) Acute coronary syndrome, chronic renal disease, chronic liver disease.
  • (5\) Malignancy.
  • (6\) On immunosuppressive therapy, HIV.
  • (7\) Leucopoenia.
  • (8\) Trauma, burn.
  • (9\) Post surgical patients/ patients requires immediate surgical intervention
  • (10\) Resuscitation status from cardiopulmonary arrest,
