Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\. CKD patients above 18years undergoing hemodialysis via AVF at Nehru Hospital.
  • 2\. Patients with matured AVF in their forearm.
  • 3\. Patient Willing to participate.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Contraindications to cold application such as radiation therapy, peripheral vascular disease, connective tissue disorders, diabetic neuropathy.
  • 2\. Patient with altered level of consciousness
  • 3\. Patient on concomititant use of analgesics within 4\-6 hrs prior to hemodialysis.
  • 4\. Patient who have pain from other reasons other than AVF pain.
  • 5\. Patient having known allergy to lidocaine and prilocaine.
