Consenting students from 4th year MBBS, who have passed their 3rd Professional exam and students from 1st/ 2nd year MBBS students who have just finished their first professional, studying in Kasturba Medical College, Manipal.
Students on medications like anti-epileptics, antipsychotic, those undergoing major life changes(stress) or having preexisting medically diagnosed disorders such as chronic insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, sleepwalking and other central causes of sleep disturbances will be excluded from the study.

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Measure the number of hours of sleep at night in first year and final years MBBS students and its correlation with academic performance (total % of marks).Timepoint: Study will be conducted during a period of no exams so that students are free of stress and to record their sleep pattern in routine days.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method 1. To assess daytime sleepiness using Epworth Daytime Sleepiness Scale. <br/ ><br>2. Total percentage of marks obtained after combining marks of all subjects in exams of <br/ ><br>respective years. <br/ ><br>3. To assess the correlation between of hours of sleep at night and social behaviour. <br/ ><br>4. To find the factors responsible for sleep deprivation in MBBS medical students.Timepoint: Study will be conducted during a period of no exams so that students are free of stress and to record their sleep pattern in routine days.
