?Patients falling in under the predefined group of medicines.
?The patient with the presence of local signs and symptoms of acute ADL such as pain, tenderness, erythema, red streaks, retrograde lymphangitis local swelling and warmth in the groin, with or without associated constitutional symptoms such as fever, nausea and vomiting reporting within 72 hours of attack either with previous history of ADL attacks or reporting for the first time from the endemic areas shall be enrolled in the study. In known cases of LF, having acute ADL, only the cases with Grade 1 and 2 lymphoedema shall be included in the study population.
?Acute attacks of ADL in known cases of Lymphatic filariasis with Grade III and IV lymphoedema and chronic hydrocele cases.
?The cases of lymphangitis due to the following conditions are to be excluded -
oThrombophlebitis
oInfection (ascending lymphangitis)
oTrauma
?Patients suffering from diabetes mellitus, severe systemic illness, congestive cardiac failure, nephrotic syndrome, malignancy and congenital lymphatic system abnormality.
?Patients coming after taking any treatment for the present ADL attack will be excluded.
?Patients deemed unfit by the investigator for participation in the study.
?Patient not willing to sign the written informed consent.
