Inclusion Criteria

patients of suspected upper gastrointestinal bleeding
patients of normal state of consciousness and stable V/S

Exclusion Criteria

stricture of GI tract and nose
reject of NG tube and EG scan insertion
emergency endoscopy can not be performed as the general condition of the unstable state
angiography and embolization is more appropriate
emergency surgery is appropriate
pregnancy status
correct diagnosis is made at another hospital
uncontrolled hypertension
uncontrolled cardiac arrhythmias
