All patients undergoing Total Knee Replacement surgery

Exclusion Criteria

Elderly more than 80 years

Revision/Complex Total Knee Replacement

Patients with history of Arrhythmia/Cardiac complications

Those not willing to give consent.

Secondary Outcome Measures

1 Quadriceps strength on post operative day 2,3,5,10 and 3 months- as measured with a standardized load cell,to be recorded by the physiotherapist <br/ ><br>2 Time taken to do a Straight Leg Raise with 0 degree lag to a count of 10- without braces - while supine in bed - for each knee <br/ ><br>3 Morphine consumption post operatively(Unilateral knees only) <br/ ><br>4.Overall satisfaction with pain control peri-operatively ( at time of discharge) (scale of 0-10) <br/ ><br>Timepoint: 1 At 48 hoursafter surgery <br/ ><br>2 At 72 hours after surgery <br/ ><br>3 At 5 days after surgery <br/ ><br>4 At 10 days after surgery <br/ ><br>5 At 3 months after surgery
