(1) Patients aged 18 years or older who have been diagnosed by the hospital pathology department as having oral malignancies and undergoing radiation therapy.
(2) Initial radiotherapy and the irradiation field includes the tongue.
(3) Karnofsky (KPS) functional status score = 50; and no serious organic damage to heart, liver, brain, kidney, etc.
(4) Patients who participate voluntarily, are conscious, can communicate normally, and have no mental illness or cognitive impairment.
(1) Patients with total tongue removal.
(2) Use of drugs that affect gustatory function during radiotherapy (e.g., the cytoprotective agent amphotericin, the saliva-increasing drug pilocarpine).
(3) Patients with known or suspected allergy to experimentally relevant materials.
(4) Patients with skin breakdown or edema at the selected acupuncture point.
(5) Patients with psychiatric disorders and pregnant women.
