- Brief Summary
Periodontitis is a long-term gum disease that affects the tissues supporting your teeth, like the gums, ligaments, and bone. It starts with minor bone loss and can worsen over time, leading to serious damage. There are different stages of periodontitis, and Stage II and III are marked by moderate bone loss and signs like deep pockets between your teeth and gums, along with bleeding when you probe the gums.
One way to treat this condition is by flushing out the harmful bacteria in the pockets between the gums and teeth.
Ozone, a form of oxygen with extra energy, has been studied as a possible alternative. It’s thought to be more powerful because it kills bacteria, reduces inflammation, and helps tissues heal faster. Ozone could be especially useful in treating the bacteria that cause periodontitis, like *Porphyromonas gingivalis* and *Tannerella forsythia*.
This study is comparing the effectiveness of ozonized water (water with ozone in it) and regular water in treating Stage II and III periodontitis. By looking at things like how much the pockets between the teeth shrink and how much attachment the gums have to the teeth, the study wants to see if ozonized water leads to better results in treating the disease.

Age between 18 to 60 years of age Systemically healthy patients Subjects with minimum 20 natural teeth remaining Subjects having Stage II and III Periodontitis.
Patients with systemic disease Patients consuming any form of tobacco Pregnant and Lactating women Having symptoms of acute illness during time of study.
