Inclusion Criteria
1.Critically ill patients with age >15 years with sepsis and/or septic shock requiring invasive ventilatory support
Exclusion Criteria
1.lack of MV support via tracheal intubation
2.new onset of acute coronary syndrome within 1 week
3.prior heart failure
4. diagnosed case of severe valvular disease or history of valvular surgery
5.history of chronic pulmonary hypertension
6.insufficient echocardiographic image
7.patient on palliative care/ withholding of life support
