To prevent discomfort and swelling in neck region after operation under general anaesthesia, inhalation of drug ketamine and ketamine combined with clonidine is given before giving anaesthesia.

Inclusion Criteria
1)physical status ASA 1-2
2)surgery in supine position under general anaesthesia lasting for up to two hours
Exclusion Criteria
1)history of prior sore throat
2)patients using steroids or NSAIDS
3)patient with COPD, Asthma
4)mallampati grade >2
5)patients with >2 attempts of intubation
6)pregnant women
7)patient and/or his/her acceptable representative not willing to provide their voluntary written informed consent for participation in the study
