简要总结

Emotion detection using electroencephalography has become one of the leading research areas to explore human emotions, which helps us to understand and make it a diagnostic tool for many psychiatric conditions and neuroeconomics. The major importance for bringing up this trial is to provide a cost-effective and clinically feasible tool to detect human emotions in hospitals. As artificial intelligence becomes one of the leading networks, using machine learning approaches will help us identify emotion recognition using electrophysiology. Previous researchers have worked in the area where datasets are used to classify the emotions. This trial will focus on collecting real-time data in immersive virtual reality to elucidate emotions and recording EEG simultaneously. This method will help to detect the emotions better in clinical settings; future directions of the study will focus on collecting data from the different clinical populations to make the accuracy rate differences between the normal population and those clinically diagnosed with a particular condition.

入选标准

  • Individuals with the age group of 18 and 65 years old with no medical history of illness.
  • Participants must be comfortable with and able to use virtual reality equipment.
  • Participants must have the cognitive ability to understand the tasks and follow instructions throughout the study.

排除标准

  • Individuals with severe psychiatric conditions such as severe depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia.
  • Participants with any comorbid or comorbid disease or any concurrent drugs that affect emotional states.
  • Participants with a history of substance abuse or currently under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Individuals with severe visual or hearing impairments that cannot be corrected.
  • Participants with conditions that make the use of VR problematic (e.g., severe motion sickness, vertigo).
  • Individuals who have previously participated in a similar EEG-based emotion recognition study within the last six months.
  • Participants with metallic implants in the head or neck region that might interfere with EEG signals.
  • Individuals with intellectual disabilities that would prevent them from understanding the study requirements or tasks without assistance.

结局指标

主要结局

The primary outcome of the study is providing different emotions connecting with brain waves and its accuracy rate.

时间窗: The outcome of the results will be assessed once the data is completely recorded from all required participants. typically after 4 weeks from data collected.

次要结局

  • functional connectivity of brain mapping towards emtoions(Once the data is recorded, the analysis will be processed, & at the final part of the analysis, the functional connectivity of brain mapping will result. estimated 5 weeks from data recorded)
