1.Patients of UC in remission or with mild to moderate disease activity as defined with mayo score
2.Patients of either sex aged 18 â?? 70 years (both inclusive) at the time of enrollment
3.Patients ready to give written informed consent
4.Patients on stable doses of medications for last 3 months
Patients are excluded if they have one or more of the following conditions:
1.Severe disease
2.Use of oral steroids, antibiotics or change in the dose of oral mesalamine within the past 4 weeks, initiation of azathioprine < 6 months prior to the study
3.Patients with diabetes mellitus, other immune mediated diseases mimicking IBD, IHD and COPD
4.Patients with surgical intervention for IBD, on psychiatric medication or pregnant and lactating women
5.Patients who have practiced yoga for >= one month regularly within at least one year preceding the study
6.Patients denying to follow the yoga protocol and give informed consent
