1. Patients scheduled for elective lower limb orthopaedic surgeries under subarachnoid
block.
2. ASA class I and II
3. Age 18-60 years
4. Height 150-170 cm
5. BMI < 30 kg per metre square
6. Both genders
1. Patient refusal to participate in study
2. Infection at the site of injection of spinal anaesthesia
3. Patient having history of drug allergy to local anaesthetic and buprenorphine .
4. Patient having any deformities of the spine
5. Patient receiving steroids, analgesics and sedatives.
6. Patient with history of chronic pain.
7. Patient having history of endocrine, cardiovascular, renal or CNS disease.
8. Patient having history of bleeding disorder.
9. Patient having history of psychiatric disorders
