•At least one diagnosis of a mental health disorder according to the DSM-5, as assessed by means of Mini-DIPS (Magraf & Cwik, 2017; for exceptions see exclusion criteria), the Structured Clinical Interview (SCID-5-CV, only the subset of questions dealing with ADHS, Beesdo-Baum, K., Zaudig, M., & Wittchen, 2019), and the Structured Clinical Interview for Personality Disorders (SCID-5-PD, Beesdo-Baum, K., Zaudig, M., & Wittchen)
•At least 1 cut-off of the following measures is exceeded: 1) Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire (RSQ = 9.88), 2) Brief Version of the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS-16 = 55.73), or 3) Interpersonal Relationships” subscale of the Outcome Questionnaire-45 (EB-45 = 13)
•Traumatic experiences in childhood and/or adolescence: moderate to severe scores on one of the subscales of the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ; Klinitzke et al., 2012) according to Häuser and colleagues (2011)
•Fluent in German
•Health insurance

•-Posttraumatic stress disorder, as assessed with Mini-DIPS (Margraf & Cwik, 2017)
•-moderate or severe substance abuse disorder (exception: cannabis), as assessed with Mini-DIPS (Margraf & Cwik, 2017)
•-currently suffering from acute psychotic symptoms, as assessed with Mini-DIPS (Margraf & Cwik, 2017)
•-currently suffering from acute manic symptoms, as assessed with Mini-DIPS (Margraf & Cwik, 2017)
•-Autism spectrum disorder, as assessed with the short version of the Autism spectrum quotient questionnaire (AQ-10; Allison et al., 2012)
•-currently participating in another psychotherapy
•-severe cognitive impairment (IQ < 70), as assessed with mini-q (Baudson & Preckel, 2015)
•-not being able or willing to not use substances in therapy sessions, as clinically assessed on an individual basis
•-imminent risk of suicide, as clinically assessed on an individual basis
•-Severe illness which prevents study patients from regularly participating in therapy sessions, as clinically assessed on an individual basis
•-Change in or start of psychotropic medication less than two weeks before study begin (for fluoxetine less than three weeks).
•Exclusion criteria for MRT:
•-Potential pregnancy or confirmed pregnancy
•-Claustrophobia
•-Metal pieces inside the body or on the body, including tattoos, permanent make-up and micro-blading
•-Difficulty with vision > 6 dioptres and no contact lenses
