Brief Summary

Acutekidney injury is one of the common complications seen in ICU patients. It isassociated with high morbidity & mortality. It is crucial to establish thedifferent etiological condition by the history & clinical presentation toarrive at proper clinical diagnosis & management, which helps us to reducethe morbidity & mortality in ICU setup. Hence, data about the incidence and outcome of AKIpatients can have important health resource utilization and economicimplications.

Inclusion Criteria
  • Patient admitted to ICU with wide variety of medical & surgical disorders necessitating ICU care.
  • An change in serum creatinine by ≥0.3 mg/dL (27 micromol/L) within 48 hours or an increase to ≥1.5 times the presumed baseline value that is known or presumed to have occurred within the prior seven days, A decrease in urine volume to <3 mL/kg over six hours Need for Renal replacement therapy.Informed written consent to be taken from first degree relatives of the patients or any authorized person.
Exclusion Criteria

All patients with age <18, Baseline serum creatinine ≥5.0 mg/dL, End-stage renal disease (ESRD) on dialysis, Transplanted kidney were excluded from the study Patients with chronic kidney disease.
