All non-laboring parturient , whether preeclamptics who are receiving magnesium sulfate therapy or normotensives without magnesium sulfate therapy, posted for elective cesarean section under spinal anesthesia will be enrolled.
Exclusion criteria will include patient refusal, need for general anesthesia, presence of labor (defined as cervical dilatation of 3 cm or more), history of PPH or more than one previous uterine surgery as well as bleeding disorders, and presence of abnormal placentation and uterine fibroid. Those with any contraindication to spinal block such as hemodynamic instability, infection at site of injection, coagulopathy (thrombocytopenia with platelet count <100,000/mm3) etc. will also be excluded
